Elderly Man Blamed Headaches on Snoring and Found to Be Terminally Ill

Mirror: 61-year-old Briton diagnosed with glioblastoma after complaining of headaches.

In the UK, 61-year-old Andrew Hayes began experiencing unbearable headaches, which he attributed to the effects of snoring, and was found to be terminally ill. This was reported by the Mirror.

In July 2025, Hayes went to the Royal Medical Centre in Nottingham complaining of severe headaches. A CT scan revealed a brain tumor. The elderly man underwent surgery, during which surgeons removed most of the tumor. A biopsy showed that he had glioblastoma — an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. According to doctors' forecasts, which they communicated to the Briton's family, he has 12 to 18 months left to live.

According to Hayes' daughter, her father did not complain about his health, he just appeared more tired than usual lately. When he started having headaches, everyone in the family thought it was due to sleep apnea. The woman noted that her father preferred not to know how much time he had left and does not talk about cancer with his relatives.

The man underwent a six-week course of radiation therapy and chemotherapy, but the treatment did not help, and the disease continues to progress. As a result, Hayes has experienced memory lapses and is gradually losing his independence.
