The epidemiologist stated that there is no cure for the new Nipah virus raging in India.
Academician Alexander Gintsburg explained the special danger of the Nipah virus. According to the epidemiologist, recovery from the new terrifying disease depends solely on the person's immunity.
"The virus is among the pathogens of particularly dangerous infections, and there is no cure for it. If the immunity is weak, the virus poses risks of complications, sepsis, pneumonia, meningitis, and can lead to death," Gintsburg reported.
The scientist also noted that air traffic between Europe and India creates a "real danger" of the Nipah virus entering the country.
It was previously reported that the first fatal case from the new virus has been recorded in India. According to media reports, there is currently no vaccine for the disease, and it is transmitted in the same way as COVID-19.
