“It’s strange to see me outside the holiday season”: Macaulay Culkin joked at the Golden Globe ceremony

Macaulay Culkin unexpectedly appeared at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, which took place on January 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, and humorously reminded the audience of his most famous role.

Upon taking the stage to present the award for Best Screenplay, the actor seized the opportunity to joke about the film "Home Alone," which made him a global star back in the 1990s. Addressing the audience, Culkin ironically noted that viewers are used to seeing him only during the Christmas season.

"Thank you. I know it’s strange to see me outside the holiday season — but, oddly enough, I exist year-round," the actor said, eliciting laughter and applause from the audience.

After that, Culkin announced the winner in the Best Screenplay category — it was Paul Thomas Anderson for the film "One Battle After Another." The actor's appearance on stage was warmly received not only by the ceremony guests but also by social media users. Many noted that they were glad to see Culkin back in the spotlight and would happily watch his return to active work in the industry.

Viewers in the comments suggested that he would be well-suited for a television show host role, while some jokingly admitted that they expected to hear the iconic scream: "KEVIN!".

On the red carpet, Macaulay Culkin appeared alongside his fiancée and the mother of his children — actress Brenda Song.
