At 62, Mikhail Olegovich is still capable of moving mountains.
It seems that theater and film actor Mikhail Efremov has decided to radically change his life. His friend and colleague Ivan Okhlobystin spoke about what is currently happening with the former prisoner.
As it turned out, after his release, Mikhail Olegovich is not in contact with the star of "Interns." This was revealed by Ivan Okhlobystin during a recent public appearance for the premiere of the film "Prostokvashino." Okhlobystin admitted that he does not want to disturb Efremov, allowing him to attend to his own affairs.
"Yes, he is full of energy; he should be doing a play. That’s what I know. But he has distanced himself for reasons we know, and I don’t find the audacity to distract him like everyone else. He has distanced himself; one can understand him, it’s all very difficult," Okhlobystin said.
While the actor was under investigation and serving his sentence in prison, his friend continued to support him in the public sphere. Okhlobystin insisted on his love for his friend even when the whole country was criticizing Efremov for his disgraceful behavior, which ultimately led to tragedy. However, it is worth noting that Mikhail Efremov is the godfather of the daughter of the star of "Interns."
"Even if he were a cannibal, he would still remain my godfather and friend. This is part of our natural perception. How can I stand up, like a European, and say: 'Oh, you, what a non-civic non-citizen! According to the Criminal Code, you should be imprisoned, and I don’t love you.' Nonsense," the artist reflected.
Now Efremov is trying to return to his profession. It is already known that Mikhail Olegovich will appear in a new play by Nikita Mikhalkov titled "Without Witnesses" in 2026.
This work has long been familiar to audiences thanks to the film of the same name released in 1983. The main roles in the film were played by Irina Kupchenko and Mikhail Ulyanov, and the film made a strong impression on viewers and received high praise from critics.
The film was awarded prestigious prizes at the International Film Festival in Moscow in 1983, as well as in Valladolid, Spain, in 1984. Additionally, the film was awarded at the XVII All-Union Film Festival in Kyiv. This confirms its significance and relevance even decades later.
The artist may also star in the dystopia directed by "Fisher" Sergey Kalvarsky.
