In the early nineties, schoolchildren and students literally rushed home right after classes, afraid to miss another episode of the cult French series 'Hélène et les Garçons'. We sincerely empathized with the characters, as if it were about our own personal lives. First love, student life, problems with banned substances — the lives of French students were shown from various angles, which attracted numerous fans.
The first episode aired on the French channel TF1 in May 1992, and shortly thereafter, the show appeared on screens in Russia. For many viewers, the actors of the series became part of growing up, as if we were going through this journey together with them. Today, it is not easy to realize how much our beloved characters have matured and even aged.
Recently, Hélène Rollès turned 59. Today, the star actively performs and dedicates all her free time to her family. She proudly bears the title of an icon for an entire generation, yet she rarely opens up about her personal life. She is raising two children, appears on TV, and has released her 11th album.
"I have found the right rhythm for myself in filming. My latest album is full of light, carefree songs that I really like. For me, a person who listens to Leny Escudero, Claude Nougaro, M, and Alanis Morissette, these songs are a wonderful musical comfort in difficult times. On the other hand, returning to concerts is madness! The last time I performed at 'L'Olympia' was in 2016. The very thought of returning to the stage frightens me. I am tormented by stage fright, and I cannot cope with this all-consuming fear. I curse myself... but I know that the audience will calm me down!" Hélène admits.
"I have no pride or regrets. I do not dwell on the past. I have not achieved anything special. I have not found a vaccine or a miraculous cure. I was chosen. People liked it, and I did everything I could without much effort. If I have any feeling that I want to express, it is gratitude," Rollès modestly notes.
