The rock band The Rolling Stones has canceled their planned major tour in 2026 across the UK and Europe, Variety reports.
The reason is Keith Richards' refusal to participate in a four-month tour, who will turn 82 on December 18. Recent concerts have shown that the musician is facing significant difficulties due to a long battle with arthritis, which has forced him to change his playing style.
The tour has been decided to be canceled, but work on a new album is in full swing.
The band's 35-year-old producer Andrew Watt, according to Jagger and Richards, has breathed new energy into the group, which helped them release their first album of original material in 15 years, "Hackney Diamonds," in 2023.
Since the early 2000s, The Stones have toured almost every year, but their routes have been getting shorter each year as the three main members of the band - Mick Jagger (82), Ron Wood (78), and Keith Richards (81) - age.
