The actor continues to fight the effects of dementia, but the family feels his love
Bruce Willis has been suffering from a degenerative brain disease, progressive dementia, since 2022. His daughter, Rumer Willis, shared in an interview that her father does not always recognize his loved ones, but this does not prevent him from feeling affection and love.
Rumer's Words About Her Visits with Her Father
"I am so grateful that when I approach him and hug him, whether he recognizes me or not, he feels the love that I give him, and I feel it back from him. I still see a spark in him. I am just grateful that I can go there with Luetta and spend time with him, feel his love for me, and love him back," Rumer said.
The Actor's Condition
Rumer notes that considering his frontotemporal dementia, her father's condition can be described as stable:
- "He is doing well, considering he is a person with frontotemporal dementia. The only way I can answer that question is to say something like: 'He is doing great!' Those parameters, in my opinion, no longer apply," she explained.
Bruce Willis' Life Organization
- Since the summer of 2025, Willis has been living under constant medical supervision;
- His wife Emma Heming and two daughters have moved to a separate house;
- The family tries to maintain contact and preserve an emotional connection with the actor despite the illness.
Even with memory decline, love and emotional closeness remain significant for Bruce and his family.
