Alien landscapes were filmed in Morocco and Yemen.
According to producer Sergey Selyanov, the science fiction film 'Ninth Planet' will be released in Russian theaters in September 2026. The main roles in the film are played by Yura Borisov and Irina Starshenbaum.
The film is directed by Nikolai Rybinikov, who previously worked on the series 'Difficult Teenagers' and the film 'Chekago', while the screenplay was written by Igor Tkachenko. The leading roles in the film are played by Yuri Borisov and Irina Starshenbaum. In addition to them, the cast includes Alexey Serebryakov, Konstantin Beloshapka, Danil Steklov, Maxim Emelyanov, and others.
The main character of the film is a mechanic named Dima, who unexpectedly begins to remember his service on the distant Ninth Planet and his beloved girl Polina after an accident. His fellow soldiers are rolling their eyes, as they have completely different – ordinary military – memories. But when Dima meets Polina in real life, he no longer doubts: someone has altered all their memories. Who and why? The truth can only be discovered by returning to the dangerous planet...
The filming of the movie took place in Moscow, Morocco, and on the island of Socotra (Yemen).
"The film is strong, in my opinion, and I want it to be confirmed not only by my perspective when we release it in theaters at the suggestion of the fund," Selyanov stated.
