Researcher Robbins: evening exercise does not lead to insomnia.
There is an opinion that physical activity in the evenings can lead to insomnia. However, researcher Rebecca Robbins from the Langone Medical Center at New York University, whose words are cited by Infobae, has debunked this popular myth.
Proponents of this theory claim that an increased heart rate and other bodily responses to physical exertion interfere with falling asleep. However, Robbins and her colleagues found no evidence that the habit of exercising in the evenings actually leads to insomnia.
The specialist conducted a study, the results of which were published in the journal Sleep Health, associated with the National Sleep Foundation, involving American adults, and concluded that for most people, physical exercise does not lead to sleep disturbances.
