Его лицо стало одним из самых узнаваемых в российском кино.

Vladimir Adolfovich is bravely fighting against cancer.

Recently, this talented theater and film actor turned 78 years old. In recent years, Vladimir Ilyin has avoided publicity and hardly gives interviews.

The star of the cult films "Burnt by the Sun," "Accident – Daughter of a Cop," and "Lily of the Valley" has not left the profession, as is often reported in the press. However, after the actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he tries to spend more time in nature. The country house of Vladimir Ilyin and his wife Zoya Pylnova is located near the New Jerusalem Monastery – a place that the actor considers to be a refuge.

Some time ago, there were rumors that Ilyin even decided to renounce worldly life and took monastic vows. Although Vladimir Adolfovich has indeed preferred a life of seclusion lately, the information about his departure to the monastery has not been confirmed.

"I mainly work in the monastery. Monasticism has absolutely nothing to do with it. In cinema, the beloved artist now appears only from time to time, because the years go by and health is no longer what it used to be. And I just want to take my time — to read quietly, craft something out of wood, and be close to my beloved wife," the artist commented on the unexpected news earlier.

Fans still cannot come to terms with the fact that their idol's happy marriage turned out to be childless. It is said that in their youth, Ilyin and Pylnova tried several times to become parents, but after several miscarriages, they eventually came to terms with their fate. By the way, the future spouses met back in the 70s backstage at the Taganka Theater. But when the actor became heavily addicted to alcohol, his beautiful muse could not withstand such trials.

Soon after breaking up with Ilyin, the young woman found new love. However, her pregnancy with Leonid Yarmolnik ended with the death of the unborn child. As actress Elena Kornilova later noted, this could partly have happened due to severe hypothermia – at that time, Pylnova preferred clothing that was not suitable for the weather. After losing the child, the actress ultimately decided to return to Vladimir Ilyin.

"Soon, Pylnova began a romance with her colleague from the Taganka Theater, Leonid Yarmolnik. I remember how she carefully prepared for each date. She would wash her hair, style it with a hairdryer, wear a blouse, silk stockings, and definitely a tiny skirt. Even in 25-degree frost, she would run around without a headscarf and in a short fur coat. I warned her that she would catch a cold in her kidneys, but Zoya brushed it off. What can you do — youth... A cesarean should have been done, but the doctors didn't keep track. I am sure that Zoya would have made an amazing mother. But soon after the tragedy, her relationship with Yarmolnik fell apart. After some time, she returned to Ilyin. He had already stopped drinking," concluded Kornilova.
