After filming 'Nuremberg,' 61-year-old Russell Crowe almost completely stopped consuming alcohol and lost weight.

In the drama 'Nuremberg,' based on the documentary book 'The Nazi and the Psychiatrist,' Crowe played the role of Hermann Goering. The second man in the hierarchy of the Third Reich was a heavyset individual, and he was colloquially referred to as the 'flying boar.' For added authenticity, Russell maintained a weight of 126 kg throughout the project. After filming wrapped, he shed 26 kg thanks to the medical service platform Way2Well.

The actor suffers from the consequences of injuries sustained during filming. Until recently, he often resorted to alcohol as a painkiller. However, he now drinks almost nothing and instead receives injections that reduce inflammation in his joints.

  • I’m a proponent of having a drink - it’s my cultural heritage, and as a working-class person, I have the right to it, - But, being an older man, one evening of 'fun' a week is quite enough for me, - Crowe shared on Joe Rogan's podcast.

In another interview for the program '60 Minutes,' Russell denied rumors of an engagement to 33-year-old Britney Theriot ('City of Vice'), with whom he has lived for five years:

  • We respect each other, wake up with a smile, and are very happy. My life is joyful; why ruin it with a wedding? - Crowe explains.
