Actor Robert Pattinson, known for his role as the vampire Edward Cullen in the cult franchise Twilight, has commented for the first time on the possibility of returning to the character. Previously, he had ironically referred to the vampire saga, but now he has expressed his willingness to once again take on the role of a 17-year-old vampire.
In a conversation with Jennifer Lawrence for Vanity Fair, Pattinson admitted:
"Oh yes, of course."
At the same time, the actor joked:
"I like to take roles away from young actors. Yes, I want to play a 17-year-old again."
Lawrence ironically noted that perhaps it would be better for Robert not to do that, but Pattinson remained adamant and humorously added a comment about his desire to dive back into the character of Edward.
Interestingly, Jennifer Lawrence also recalled that she once auditioned for the role of Bella Swan, but did not get the part. Now she considers it a stroke of luck, as "it wasn't her story."
