A new trend is gaining popularity in Europe — 'sleep tourism,' where the main goal of the trip is not sightseeing or parties, but full relaxation, silence, and deep sleep.
Experts from the British company MattressNextDay researched over 300 European cities to determine where the best sleep can be found. Factors considered included air quality, noise and light levels, the number of parks, nighttime temperatures, precipitation, and the intensity of nightlife.
Riga ranked fifth among the best destinations in Europe for a 'sleepcation,' with a final score of 7.99 out of 10.
According to analysts, the Latvian capital is an ideal place for those who value silence, fresh air, and a calm atmosphere.
Riga has many green spaces, a mild climate, and a relatively 'quiet' nightlife, making it particularly attractive for those looking to recharge and reset their bodies.
The leader of the ranking was Vilnius, which scored 8.26 points, followed by Dresden, Poznań, Warsaw, and Riga.
Experts note that the growing interest in sleepcation is linked to people's desire to slow down and focus on their well-being.
