According to Pavlova, frequent night awakenings can be caused by stress, sleep apnea, or fluctuations in blood glucose levels. In this regard, she recommended that people who wake up several times during the night pay attention to their evening habits — drink less fluid before bed, avoid alcohol, check their blood sugar levels, and monitor their breathing during sleep.
