Surgeon: when breathing through the mouth, a person inhales dusty and dry air.

Breathing problems can lead to cardiovascular diseases, brain dysfunction, and chronic stress, warned surgeon Sergey Karpovich.

The doctor assured that the nose is not just a part of the face, but a separate organ that filters the air, warms it, and moistens it. If a person breathes through the mouth, they inhale dusty and dry air. This can lead to the development of pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, and other diseases, the doctor explained.

Karpovich added that another serious breathing problem is sleep apnea. Due to this, air stops flowing in the required volume, resulting in a drop in blood oxygen levels. "It becomes thicker, and the heart and blood vessels have to work overtime. This is a direct path to ischemia, heart attack, or even stroke," the doctor clarified.

He added that sleep apnea also poses another danger: it leads to micro-awakenings, which affect the brain. According to the doctor, due to this breathing problem, a person wakes up in a bad mood and feels broken. In the long term, this threatens chronic stress, Karpovich added.
