The water is rising, oxygen supplies are dwindling, and escape is no longer possible. But the most terrifying challenge for the heroes of 'The Devil's Mouth' is not just the deadly predator lurking in the depths, but also the fear that gradually destroys trust among the people. Director Jeff Wadlow presented the film in 2026, combining elements of a claustrophobic thriller and a horror movie. The action unfolds in the confined space of flooded caves, where every breath could be the last, and any mistake could cost a life.
What the Film Is About
Shortly before entering adulthood, a group of students travels to Thailand, hoping to have an unforgettable vacation. In search of thrills, the friends decide to explore a system of flooded underground caves known as 'The Devil's Mouth.' However, an unexpected storm completely changes their plans.
The exits are cut off by water, making it impossible to escape, and an aggressive shark lurking in the flooded tunnels begins to hunt the trapped individuals. As air, flashlight batteries, and survival resources dwindle, fear, mutual accusations, and despair grow among the friends. The struggle against the predator gradually turns into a fight against each other.
How the Film Was Made
Although the events in the story take place in the underground caves of Thailand, a significant portion of the filming was done elsewhere. The main underwater scenes were created in special water pavilions and tanks in the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom, where they managed to recreate the feeling of tight, flooded mazes.
For the filming, the actors underwent serious training. They practiced holding their breath underwater for extended periods so that the operators could shoot long episodes without using breathing masks, maintaining maximum realism on screen.
Where to Watch
