From February 9 to 15, the Latvian Railway Museum will host the international graphic art exhibition ART RIGA FAIR PAPER. This event continues the more than decade-long tradition of ART RIGA FAIR — the exhibits can not only be viewed but also purchased. The exhibition will feature both outstanding Latvian graphic artists and artists from France, Canada, Lithuania, Estonia, Japan, and other countries.
The ART RIGA FAIR PAPER exhibition is dedicated to graphic art as one of the most multifaceted and conceptually rich areas of contemporary art. The exhibition features artists working with both classical methods and experimental approaches, showcasing a variety of visual languages and techniques.
In addition to works created using traditional methods (engraving, etching, aquatint, lithography, etc.), the exhibition presents original graphic works and drawings made with pencil, ink, pastel, as well as works where graphic methods are combined with digital solutions.
Particular attention at ART RIGA FAIR PAPER is given to the significance of paper — here it is viewed not only as a medium for images but as an active element of the artistic process. Paper serves as a space for experimentation, tactile perception, and conceptual interaction of technique, idea, and form, demonstrating its diversity and plasticity.
