Why You Shouldn't Place Your Phone Screen Up

Some users still believe that smartphones should be placed screen up to avoid scratches and make it easier to find them in the dark.

However, this is just a misconception. In fact, smartphones lying screen up are more likely to get damaged.

Here are three reasons why you should avoid this.

1. Battery Saving

Modern smartphones activate the screen for incoming messages and calls. Experts have calculated that with certain settings, during a call and in this position, up to a quarter of the battery charge can be lost.

2. Screen Damage

Most often, smartphone displays are replaced not due to drops, but because something has fallen on them. If the device doesn't have a case or a screen protector, the screen can crack, and if the phone is lying screen down, only the back cover will get damaged.

3. Cybersecurity

If you leave your phone screen up and walk away, those around you can gain access to your personal data. They can see who is calling you, what is being written in messages, and even the contents of SMS from the bank, which can negatively impact your finances.
