Where to Plant Zucchini for Double Harvest

Getting a double harvest of zucchini is a reality if you know where to plant them.

For successful zucchini cultivation, they should be planted not only in fertilized soil or a greenhouse but also on a regular compost pile. In such conditions, the plants feel great.

The compost pit provides zucchini with everything they need due to its high organic content. Moreover, the soil in the compost pile is not only loose but also fertile.

The compost pile (or pit) can be considered as a warm bed — this is a life hack that is becoming increasingly popular in agricultural circles.

How to Plant Zucchini

Preparation should begin no later than a week before planting. The pile needs to be loosened, undecomposed plant residues removed, and decomposed compost extracted from the center (about 40 cm deep). It will be useful later.

The resulting hole should be lined with freshly cut grass, then covered with decomposed compost, and topped with garden soil.

This technology allows the grass to decompose, releasing heat and warming the soil. As a result, zucchinis will grow quickly; it remains only to water them in time.

You can plant either sprouted zucchini seeds or seedlings.
