Adding vegetables and bread to minced meat helps make meat products fluffier and juicier.
The question of what is better to add to minced meat for cutlets – potatoes or bread – concerns many. Experienced chefs share their opinions on this matter.
To achieve fluffy and juicy cutlets, it is recommended to add vegetables. Bread, especially dry, can absorb excess moisture from the minced meat.
For preparation you will need:
minced meat (preferably a mixture of pork and beef) 400-500 g;
potatoes 2 pcs;
egg 1 pc;
onion 1 pc;
breading crumbs, salt, pepper to taste.
How to cook:
Peel the raw potatoes and onion, grate them on a fine grater, remove excess liquid, mix with the meat, and add the egg.
Then knead the minced meat thoroughly. Professionals claim that ideally prepared semi-finished product leaves no traces on the walls of the bowl.
Sometimes it is recommended not to add chicken egg, as the protein can make the cutlets denser, but this depends on personal preferences.
After that, shape the cutlets, roll them in breading crumbs, and fry or bake in the oven.
