What to Replace Bread with When Making Cutlets: Three Best Alternatives

Baked goods give cutlets juiciness and fluffiness, but not all cooks want to use this component in the recipe.

Many consider bread to be too high in calories.

Moreover, traditionally, only rye bread is suitable for cutlets.

However, this component can be replaced with other products. What alternatives can be suitable instead of the usual bread?

Semolina

This product can replace both bread and eggs. In the case of replacing bread, semolina should be added in its dry form. If eggs need to be replaced, semolina should be boiled beforehand.

When adding the dry product, the minced meat should be allowed to rest for about 15 minutes before frying. During this time, the semolina will swell.

Starch

If your goal is to make fluffy cutlets without bread, starch will be an excellent option. Both potato and corn starch are suitable.

For every half kilogram of minced meat, about 20 grams of starch is needed.

Zucchini

This vegetable makes cutlets fluffy, juicy, healthy, and low-calorie. First, the zucchini is peeled and grated.

After that, excess moisture should be removed from the resulting mass and added to the minced meat.
