How to Deliciously Salt Mackerel: Preparing in Just a Few Hours

Mackerel can be prepared in various ways, but salting remains one of the most popular methods.

 

Mackerel turns out tasty and tender thanks to its specific meat.

Not everyone is ready to wait a day, so you can prepare a lightly salted version to enjoy the dish just a couple of hours after cooking.

What ingredients will you need?

- half a kilogram of mackerel;
- 1 medium-sized onion;
- a large spoonful of salt and a small spoonful of sugar;
- two pieces of cloves, a bay leaf, and a little pepper to taste.

How to prepare?

First, thaw the fish, rinse it, clean it, and cut it into small portion-sized pieces. Mix the salt, sugar, and pepper into a uniform mass.

Cut the onion into rings.

Choose a jar or container for salting.

Place a layer of the salt and pepper mixture at the bottom, then lay the fish, add the onion, and salt again. Repeat the layers until the fish is finished. Place the cloves and bay leaf on top.

The fish should sit in the refrigerator for 60 minutes. After that, gently shake and turn the container. After another hour, the fish will be ready to serve.
