Nutritionist Oscar Urtaado noted that a simple intake after the main evening meal can alleviate discomfort in the digestive tract. This information was published by El Economista.
According to Urtaado's recommendation, those who experience difficulties with the gastrointestinal tract should finish dinner with a baked apple sprinkled with cinnamon. The nutritionist explained that this fruit contains a significant amount of pectin, which positively affects digestive functions.
The expert also pointed out that this compound acts as a natural "magnet" for a number of harmful microorganisms: they bind with pectin and are naturally removed from the body. In addition, cooked apples are a source of antioxidants.
These substances protect cells from oxidative stress and, consequently, reduce the likelihood of developing heart and vascular diseases, concluded Urtaado.
