On election day for the 15th Saeima, the State Police of Latvia received 25 reports of possible violations. After verification, six administrative cases were initiated, and several more reports are still being examined.

The State Police of Latvia reported that on election day for the Saeima, they received 25 reports of possible violations. However, most of them were not confirmed after verification.

As a result of the review of the information, the police initiated six administrative proceedings. Half of them are related to violations of public order, while the other three concern non-compliance with the requirements of the election campaigning law.

It is important to note that these are administrative, not criminal cases. The verification of some of the received reports is ongoing, so the number of confirmed violations may change.

Violations of public order were registered in Daugavpils, Riga, and Jekabpils. In Riga, one of the visitors damaged informational posters placed at the polling station. In Jekabpils, during a domestic conflict, one participant demonstratively tore up an unnecessary ballot. Another incident was recorded in Daugavpils.

Three administrative proceedings are related to possible violations of election campaigning rules. According to the police, in Aknīste, Lestene, and Kurmene, campaign materials from one of the political parties were found in publicly accessible places.

Such reports traditionally come to the police almost during every election. After receiving the information, law enforcement agencies check each signal and only then decide to initiate administrative proceedings.

The police emphasized that they continue to work together with other responsible services and are ready to respond promptly to any threats to public order and safety until the electoral process is fully completed.
