Bank of America Corp Vice President Erin Piacenti died as a result of a knife attack that occurred the day before near Times Square in New York City. This was reported by the city police.
New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani stated that the attacker was a woman with several knives. She injured two people at Times Square, after which the police used a Taser and opened fire. The suspect, 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros, was killed.
Erin Piacenti soon died from her injuries.
New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch added that the attack appeared to be random and unprovoked.
32-year-old Piacenti held the position of vice president in Bank of America's client selection and conflict resolution division.
