You still have time to enroll in the university for the winter admission until February 1 inclusive! Psychologists and organizational psychologists will always be in demand in the labor market.

So, until February 1, 2026, as part of the winter admission of the Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL), you have the opportunity to take an important step towards a profession that is highly sought after in the labor market and in society as a whole by choosing to study for a bachelor's or master's degree in psychology and organizational psychology.

These new study programs at RGSL are created with the confidence that strong mental health is the foundation of society, and with the aim of preparing competent, modern specialists capable of genuinely helping people and organizations. RGSL conducts training in small groups, where each student is heard, supported, and encouraged to grow – both professionally and personally.

The Riga Graduate School of Law is purposefully developing by offering in-demand specialties in the labor market, allowing you to form your professional identity and confidence in the future even during your studies.

The bachelor's program in "Psychology" will last three years, while the second-cycle (professional master's) program in "Organizational Psychology" will last two years. The study programs are created in the Latvian language, taking into account the significant and growing demand for quality and modern education in psychology.

In Latvia and other European countries, one of the most important issues is the shortage of qualified specialists, and in Latvia, there is a particularly acute shortage of psychologists, as well as specialized professionals in educational psychology, legal psychology, and military psychology. This shortage creates excessive pressure on existing specialists and significantly extends the waiting time for necessary visits to a psychologist.

"International practice has proven that targeted training of young specialists is one of the most effective ways to reduce waiting lists for consultations with psychologists in the long term. Currently, there are over 1,700 registered psychologists in Latvia, but the availability of psychologists remains limited, especially in the regions of the country. Experts note a significant shortage of specialists in the field of mental health. At the same time, the demand for mental health specialists exceeds existing capabilities, and waiting lists can take up to six months or longer," emphasizes the relevance of the profession, said Zane Jankovska, the director of the psychology program at RGSL and a master of psychology. She explains that acquiring knowledge about psychological processes, human behavior models, and their interaction with social and cultural factors requires academic education and specialized knowledge. Research and clinical psychology are important for addressing various public health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and addictions, which affect millions of people worldwide.

Moreover, psychologists are needed in organizations and enterprises to improve the work environment, productivity, and employee well-being. Psychology professionals can also offer support in business, marketing, and even in the political sphere.

The admission of applicants for the bachelor's program in psychology and the master's program in organizational psychology will be open until February 1, 2026, and applicants can submit documents both electronically and in person.
