The Consumer Rights Protection Center (PTAC) restricted access to the online stores myfragrance.lv and fragrancemy.lv after numerous complaints from customers. Among the complaints are receiving damaged goods, doubts about their authenticity, problems with refunds, and lack of communication with the seller.

PTAC decided to block the websites myfragrance.lv and fragrancemy.lv, as significant violations of consumer rights were identified during the inspection.

As noted by the center, the reason for the inspection was complaints from customers about perfume purchased online. Consumers reported cases of receiving products that did not match their orders, damaged or opened packaging, and expressed doubts about the authenticity of the received products.

In addition, customers faced difficulties when trying to contact the seller, issues with exercising their right to withdraw from the purchase, and non-refunds of paid funds.

PTAC emphasizes that both websites lacked clear information about the merchant, as well as information that, according to the law, must be provided to consumers when concluding distance contracts. As a result, customers could not identify the actual seller and effectively protect their rights in case of disputes.

The center repeatedly contacted the owner of the online stores demanding to rectify the violations and provide the necessary clarifications. However, no response was received.

Considering the lack of response and the ongoing risk to consumers, PTAC decided to restrict access to both websites.

The agency reminds residents that before purchasing goods online, they should check the seller's information, the availability of contact details, and carefully review the terms of the distance contract. In case of suspicions of unfair commercial practices, PTAC urges reporting this to the center.
