The repeated auction for the sale of Riga Station in Moscow did not take place due to a lack of applications.

"By the established deadline for submitting applications to participate in the auction, no applications were submitted, which is why the auction procedure did not take place," the excerpt from the protocol on the results of the auction states.

Russian Railways announced a repeated auction for the sale of Riga Station at the end of April. The first auction, announced in early March, was deemed unsuccessful due to a lack of applications.

The lot included the station building constructed in 1901 with an area of 3,900 sq. m, a non-residential building built in 1929 with an area of 3,900 sq. m, as well as utilities. The buyer was also promised a long-term lease of a land plot of 13,700 sq. m.

The starting price of the lot at both auctions was 4 billion rubles (about 50 million euros).

It is worth noting that something similar is happening with the House of Moscow in Riga. It was confiscated by the Latvian state in January 2024. It was planned to sell the building at auction, and the proceeds were to be sent to Ukraine. However, there have already been eight auctions, the price has been reduced from 3.57 million euros to 2.142 million euros, but no buyer has come forward at the auction.
